Therapy for Women

We celebrate and honor the dynamic and powerful experience of identifying as a woman.

And. In a world where women are given mixed messages and impossible roles -

in a culture where women are paid less, lack representation in meaningful power structures and medical research, are discounted further as members of the global majority, those existing in bigger bodies, having disabilities, or any and all intersections of the above -

in a society where women are the default caretakers and mental loaders and are bending under the pressure on our shoulders -

we believe supporting the mental health of women needs and deserves a specialized space.

Therapy for women may focus on the experiences of depression and anxiety, trauma, chronic stress, and accidental pattern repeating. Our goal is to help guide you back to your most values-aligned self.

Pregnancy & Postpartum Support

We understand the joys and sorrows connected to the perinatal period (pregnancy through the early years of parenting) and are trained and experienced to provide therapy and supportive counseling targeting this phase of life.

Whether you are working through the adjustment of becoming a parent or experiencing a perinatal mood or anxiety disorder (PMAD), noticing tension around identity shifts, and/or feeling painful triggers from your own childhood now that you’ve become a parent, therapy can help.

And since we recognize many pain points of this era as largely upheld by factors outside our control - from biological factors to the severing of community care (i.e. that village you keep hearing about), to policies that make American parenthood feel so challenging - we are committed to working collaboratively with other helping professionals and staying abreast of opportunities to advocate on the policy level.

Birth Trauma Recovery

Sometimes our reproductive journey does not go as planned. Sometimes unexpected events - no matter the size - during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum temporarily change our understanding of how safe it is to be in our body and in the world.

Sometimes this feels so intensely awful that it’s hard to even name and instead we hang out in a state of hypervigilance - experiencing intense fear, rage, and irritability. Relaxation is a highly elusive concept, no matter how many people recommend it.

We help clients find their way back to a sense of safety and connection. Trauma recovery involves not thinking your way out of events, but setting the conditions for your body (of which you brain is a part) to access its built-in safe-to-come-out-now parts. We help facilitate this process at a pace that feels right for you.

  • You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” (GFE) explaining how much your medical care will cost as a result of the “No Surprises Bill” taking effect in January 2022.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. When we book a first appointment, I will send you a GFE if you are not using your insurance.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you have the right dispute the bill. You will always have access to your specific GFE on your online portal. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises

“And every day, the world will drag you by the hand, yelling, “This is important! And this is important! And this is important! You need to worry about this! And this! And this!” And each day, it’s up to you to yank your hand back, put it on your heart and say, “No. This is what’s important.”
