Therapy in San Francisco + Virtually in California
Your Source for Specialized Support in Women’s, Perinatal & Parental Mental Health
We are a therapy practice focused on helping women and moms decrease worries, improve relationships, and find their way back to themselves.
We imagine that you're seeking to end the exhausting battle with feelings of anxiety or sadness and want to find tools to work with them instead.
You want to stop taking orders from perfectionism, and turn down the volume on that critical voice in your mind.
You're likely considered "high functioning" and independent, so appearances mask the fact that you're hurting inside.
You want to authentically show up for yourself and your family - the one you have now and the one you want in your future -and something is telling you the time is now.
You just. want. to feel. better.
Well feeling better is about connecting - to your inner strengths, a truer, more balanced version of your story, your support network, and other SOURCES of vitality.
We can help you do that.
Hi , we’re the team at SOURCE Psychotherapy.
Whether you are a therapy first-timer, someone looking for your next right fit, or seeking clinicians specialized in your particular phase of life, we’d be honored to support you.
At SOURCE we lead with our authentic selves and don't believe a therapist should be a “blank slate.” When you work with us, we listen deeply, but do not silently sit and nod. We collaboratively explore your story, cut through the noise of old stories and beliefs, listen for patterns, offer reflections, and discover your strengths and values. We give you knowledge, free of jargon, that helps you understand yourself. We often even share hearty laughs, even when things feel hard.
Established in 2012, SOURCE was created to provide the highest quality of therapy for women, those anywhere on their reproductive journey, and parents to children of any age in San Francisco and California as a whole. We embed evidence-based practices into a relational, collaborative, and trauma-informed (read: no surprises, no letting you dive in without resources to keep you afloat) approach, and all SOURCE clinicians have specialized training in perinatal mental health. Our practice has stood the test of time and we we work every day to maintain the trust we’ve earned in the Bay Area community.
We know that starting therapy is an act of adding ANOTHER THING to your busy life, and know that you wouldn’t be here if your wisdom wasn’t whispering that something needs attention. We are here to provide just that.
What We Offer:
-
We help individuals seeking therapy for anxiety, depression, relational issues, grief, struggles with transition, and stuckness find their way (back) to their wisest selves.
-
We help couples having difficulty with connection and communication, and wanting to find ways to come back to each other, learn their patterns and identify their real needs.
-
We offer small groups to people going through similar experiences to help foster community and connection.
How it works:
1.We Connect
First you connect through a free consultation call with a SOURCE therapist, where you get to share a bit about yourself and ask any lingering questions. Next you’ll have an initial session where your therapist will get to know more about you, and you get to notice how it feels to sit with your therapist (whether doing in-person therapy in San Francisco or meeting via telehealth). Most people go on to schedule regular meetings,
2. We make a plan
Once you’ve established connection, you and your therapist will collaboratively make a plan of support, choosing points of focus, helpful modalities, and a general map of your goals. We are proud to offer flexible therapy that balances relationship and intervention (i.e, we will not adhere to rigid treatment modalities at the expense of the whole person in front of us!). Healing is circuitous. We honor this while still staying anchored to your goals.
3. We provide ongoing support
We offer short-, medium-, and long-term therapy based on many factors (see FAQs). Based on your plan, you and your therapist find your therapeutic flow, continuing to monitor the impacts of tools you’re using and continuing to check in on the therapeutic relationship (can you tell we are all about connection here? ☺). Once you are one of our clients we often continue to be a SOURCE of support throughout different chapters of your life.
I wish I could show you, when you are lonely or in darkness the remarkable light of your own being
