Frequently Asked Questions:

After you reach out, a therapist will reach out within one to two business days to schedule an initial consultation call so you can ask any questions and get an initial vibe read of your therapist. You will then schedule an initial 60-minute assessment session, where your therapist can learn more about you and you can share your goals for therapy.. From there you are given a weekly slot and you’ll work collaboratively with your therapist towards your goals.

We start all clients out with weekly sessions for at least four weeks in order to establish the therapeutic relationship. While we value flexibility, this is one area where we do not make exceptions. Most of our clients continue with weekly appointments, but some may choose at some point to reduce to biweekly for budgetary and/or clinical (i.e., you are feeling better and are able to carry the therapy into your life outside the room) reasons, and we totally support that!

We offer short- (6-8 weeks), medium- (4-6 months), and long-term therapy (no timeline) based on client preference, budget, and the area(s) of concern needing some therapeutic TLC. You may know what you want from the start or may want to feel that out together with your therapist. This is usually an organic process as we continually check in on how things are going. It can be hard not knowing how long it will take to feel better and we would be lying if we said we knew how long it will take for symptoms to resolve. But we can commit to being transparent with our thinking along the way.

Yes! We welcome babies in both in-person and virtual sessions, as long as that’s what works for you. Feeding, changing, and soothing baby are often part of these sessions. If you find it hard to concentrate and/or baby’s development grows bigger than our capacity (i.e., when they get too talkative and/or active), we recommend having a different caregiver tend to baby so you can have your therapy time.

Our fees vary by clinician and can be found here.

No. We are not paneled with any insurance companies and are considered “out of network” (OON) providers. We offer monthly “superbills” that you can submit for reimbursement if you have a PPO plan that offers this. We also accept FSA and HSA cards.

We have a 24 hour cancellation policy. We have found this to be a good way to balance everyone’s needs. SOURCE therapists intentionally keep a manageable caseload of clients in order to provide the highest quality of care. Life comes up and cancellations happen, but we ask that they be kept to a minimum in order to hold your spot.

So glad you asked 🙂 SOURCE felt like a concept that tied together many core operating beliefs of our practice - that people have so many sources of strength, healing, love, and connection, that we can source what we need, and that life and relationships are complex. The sun can be a source of light and a source of burning, just as a relationship, job, phase of life, and even our own mind can be a source of goodness and a source of pain. We like to get to know all the parts. Also? The “SS” sound sounded nice.
